Michigan (Still) Falls Short on Mental Health Services

Shortages of behavioral health providers (from psychiatrists to counselors) have limited access to treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. As demand for behavioral health services increases, Michigan must address recruitment and retention of the behavioral health workforce to prevent more severe shortages in the long run.
