Highlights of a virtual statewide town hall meeting

Bridge Michigan, Citizens Research Council of Michigan, and Altarum hosted a timely and important conversation on May 16 about how Michigan is losing ground to and becoming less competitive than other states.

This public virtual event brought together leaders from government, business, and the advocacy community to examine and discuss the first in a series of reports from Altarum and Citizens Research Council that provides a comprehensive look at trends about Michigan’s slowing population growth and the future of our workforce, economy and communities. Amber Arellano (Executive Director, The Education Trust-Midwest), Gabe Rodriguez-Garriga (Vice President, Strategy, Business Leaders for Michigan) and Susan Corbin (Director, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity) explored the challenges to and opportunities for Michigan, and what actions should be taken to reverse these trends and put Michigan on a path to prosperity.
