Adderley Family Establishes $1 Million Endowment for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan
Livonia, Michigan –Terence and Jennifer Adderley have established a centennial endowment for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Adderley have committed $1 million to this endowment.

“I understand the critical need for a non-partisan, independent voice analyzing consequences of proposed public policy in Michigan,” said Terry Adderley, a native Detroiter and chairman of Kelly Services, a Fortune 500 company.  “Policy makers, business leaders and our citizens must have access to information without political spin. I sincerely hope other corporate executives and philanthropists will follow our lead and support the Research Council.  We must provide the needed financial resources so the Citizens Research Council can continue its good work for the next 100 years.”

“The Citizens Research Council is extremely grateful to have the support of Terry and Jennifer Adderley,” said the Research Council’s Board Chairman Terence Donnelly.  “Research on public policy issues isn’t always glamorous or exciting but it is absolutely vital for sound decision making. This is the single largest gift ever donated by a member of our Board of Trustees and we are deeply grateful to the Adderley’s for their strong financial and moral support.  This investment will help send the message to other business and community leaders, as well as those involved with public policy, that our research is essential to the success of Michigan’s state and local governments.”

As part of its centennial celebration, the Citizens Research Council launched a fundraising initiative to help maintain and strengthen Research Council’s commitment to solid, objective, nonpartisan research.

Other donors supporting the Citizens Research Council’s commitment to the philosophy that “The right to criticize government is also the obligation to know what you are talking about,”  include Masco Corporation, Cooper-Standard, Kelly Services, Meijer, Lear, Edw. C. Levy Co., Penske Corporation and many other Michigan businesses and individuals.  Additional information, including links to recent research reports and presentations can be found at www.crcmich.org.

The Citizens Research Council of Michigan is a privately funded, not-for-profit public affairs research organization, founded in 1916.
