This proposed ordinance provides that, if at any time casino gambling is approved by state law, it shall be prohibited within the corporate limits of the City of Detroit, including Belle Isle. A “Yes” vote is for the prohibition and against legalized casino gambling. If approved, the ballot proposal would initiate a city ordinance, but a state law authorizing casino gambling could supersede that ordinance.
