The 2024 Election: Tips for Complying with Michigan’s Ethics Laws

We are inviting Michigan’s young policy leaders, especially members of the Emerging Leaders Council and members of the executive and legislative staff, to have lunch with us and learn how to balance work responsibilities with campaign tasks. What can be done during work hours, and what must be done on personal time? What civil service laws apply to you? This information and more will be discussed.

We are also thrilled to announce that our guest speaker is John Pirich, well known for decades in Michigan as an experienced litigator who regularly argues matters at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. Pirich now focuses on election law, campaign finance and other politically related activities. As a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan, Mr. Pirich has substantial experience issues as a campaign finance attorney, appearing before various legislative committees, interacting with legislative staff, and participating in legislative initiatives for trade associations and institutional clients.

Mr. Pirich is a professor of Law at MSU College of Law, specializing in government relations and lobbying law.

Following the presentation, there will be time for Q&A and networking.

If you have colleagues or coworkers who you think might enjoy this opportunity, especially young leaders interested in policy, please invite them and encourage them to RSVP and attend. While we encourage all young leaders to join our Emerging Leaders Council, they don’t need to be members to attend this event.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. The event is free, but due to space, it is limited to the first 30 registrations.
